About me

Many people tell me they don’t like editing and proofreading. Well, I love it!

That’s why I’ve combined my scientific experience with my knack for English and a lifelong love of words to provide a complete range of writing and editing services for clients around Australia.

Prior to becoming a writer and editor, I spent 20 years working in the pharmaceutical sector where I researched, wrote and edited scientific and technical information to everyone from key opinion leaders and specialists to patients and the public.

I have been responsible for scientific review and approval of marketing and sales materials, led clinical trials for local and international clients, and developed a deep understanding of scientific processes and protocols. I have also worked in GP and specialist sales.

In addition to a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology, I have a Master of Arts in Creative Writing. I was awarded the Varuna House Eleanor Dark Flagship Fellowship in 2019 for my science-based young adult fiction set in outback South Australia, and have won an international writing competition with a snappy 53 words. From 2020 to 2022, I was the designer and editor of the literary publication Women’s Ink.

As a contributing editor and fact-checker with ScienceAlert since 2022, I enjoy producing credible and intelligent content in a fun and accessible way. My portfolio includes the environment, health, humans, nature, physics, society, space and tech.

And I really, really love cats.
